Disneyland and Disney California Adventure have dozens of spicy entrees, decadent desserts, savory snacks, and pumpkin everything for Fall 2022! This Halloween food guide previews the full seasonal menus, followed by quick recommendations based on things we’ve enjoyed in past years.

As a reminder, Halloween Time at Disneyland runs from September 2 to October 31, 2022. Of course, snacking is just one small component of the fall season at Disneyland. From Oogie Boogie Bash — A Disney Halloween Party to Haunted Mansion Holiday, there’s a ton to see and do this time of year in the parks. Make sure to read our Ultimate Guide to Halloween Time at Disneyland to get the most out of this awesome season in the parks.

In the name of very important research, we’ll be eating a ton of the new Halloween snacks, entrees, and desserts throughout Disneyland Resort to scientifically determine which are the best. So stay tuned in the next couple of weeks as we put together a new list of favorites. Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party

If you’ve already got your tickets to one of the sold-out nights of Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party at Disney California Adventure, there are tons of sinister sweets and treats. With items like the Loaded Buffalo Chicken Fries at Flo’s V8 Cafe, or the strawberry-flavored Pain Churro and the raspberry-flavored Panic Churro, there’s a perfect blend of sweet and savory to try. You can also take a walk on the villians side with the delicious Mistress of Evil Chocolate Cake from Wine Country Trattoria.

Ultimately, these seasonal menus are one of the things we’re most excited about for Halloween 2022 at Disneyland. We joke about this being “research,” but we love trying the seasonal menu updates and special items. This year, that’s even more true than normal, as menus at Disneyland and DCA are still scaled back, so the seasonal options for Halloween and Christmas (followed by Lunar New Year and Food & Wine) will be a nice reprieve from a summer of ordinary foods.

While I’m looking forward to trying several new items, I do have a few concerns. First, no Pumpkin Spice Monkey Bread at River Belle Terrace. That was the best thing last year, so it’s disappointing that it won’t be back. (On the plus side, no need to do River Belle Terrace this year!) Second, it’s too dessert-heavy. More like the Oktoberfest-inspired Burger at Galactic Grill or the Spicy Chicken & Fries at Flo’s V8 Cafe would be great. (Bring back the Car-achnid Pot Pie–it was the one saving grace of the menu at Flo’s V8 Cafe!) Finally, there are too many desserts that basically amount to artificial flavors + artificial coloring–but no discernible flavor other than sugar.

With all of that said, there’s still more than enough to keep us busy for several visits, and a lot of it sounds good. There are still a lot of pumpkin options (our jam), and we recognize that not everything needs to cater to our tastes. In the end, it’s difficult to quibble too much with this lineup of foods, snacks, and desserts for Halloween 2022 at Disneyland and DCA. We’ll start our “research” over the holiday weekend, continue prior to Oogie Boogie Bash, and–if all goes well–be done by the end of D23 Expo. So stay tuned for that!

Is there a food guide every day? Is it only on Halloween?

Honestly, this is disappointing. Enough with the spicy foods, Disney! And everything else is just overloaded sugar and carbs. Oh well, on the bright side at least I won’t be wasting money or stressing about getting the best treats. And would it kill Disney to add some low carb options? They usually do well with plant based and gluten free options but never keto options.

Honestly, I’m disappointed. There isn’t one plant-based or dairy free sweet treat on the list that isn’t a juice based drink, and what items there that might be safe, either are all spicy or contain alcohol.

I don’t mind an occasional drink or a savory snack here and there but I don’t drink that much and it wouldn’t have killed them to make at least one dessert allergen/plant-based friendly.

excited to try some of these next week! i do agree, in general there need to be more savory options at all the special seasonal events on both coasts. the sweet tooths are covered, but us salty tooths need some love too.
